Ken Murray: Painter

As an artist I enjoy working in a variety of media, this said, I have tended to use oil paint, over acrylic under painting more recently.  I also enjoy the challenges presented in drawing a variety of subject matter.  My work tends to be figurative and is strongly influenced by the work of Caravaggio, especially his sense of drama and use of chiaroscuro, as well as that of Degas for his sense of movement and impeccable draughtsmanship. I have recently been producing work based on Ely’s fabulous Cathedral as well as images of local Morris Dancers, other subjects have included images of Venice and still life’s as well as several commissions.
